We are family
Just two brothers that love keeping bees and making hives. Every hive we make is cut from sustainable English Cedar from UK forests that is milled and seasoned by us at the workshop. Each hive is then hand assembled, individually finished and delivered to you personally by us.
What they said....
By Emma C
Amazing service, really helpful and answered all my questions. Hive is beautiful and can't wait for my bees to have it as their new home.
Fantastic workmanship using good quality materials - very informative and delivered on time
I am so pleased with the long hive. It looks great and the workmanship is superb. It will make life so much easier for me. I think this is the way to go and have already decided to gradually change my other hives over.
For me with a bad back it’s ideal, just the right height. The bees seem to love it, the colony is thriving, and with it being so versatile I can add or take out frames as needed..
In the beginning.....
We think it's really important that you know exactly how much time and effort that goes into your hive. The first step in the hive making process is a visit to the saw mill to purchase the raw cedar logs. We control the journey from tree felling to the final hive delivery, meaning absolute quality throughout.
Long or Short?
We make 2 different sizes of our hives in National or Langstroth frame sizes:
The Long is 46 frames in total and is for 2 colonies.
The Short is 23 frames in total and is for a single colony.
46 frames long and for 2 colonies. Its partitioned in the middle with entrances at both ends, each half uses 23 frames with a queen excluder frame in the middle to split the brood and honey stores.
A modern twist
Classic or Contemporary? You can choose one of our new roof designs to make it your own. You can even add a logo if you are a commercial enterprise, school or club. With the natural beauty of our cedar, and its incredible longevity, you have what is basically a luxury piece of garden furniture that will last decades.
'Can do' beekeeping
Our most important feature is total accessibility. The hive is horizontal in design, so no heavyweights to lift. During an inspection, you simply open the gas strutted roof and you are in. Perfect for people with bad backs, young children in beekeeping, and beekeepers with certain disabilities.
The full monte
We understand that buying your first hive can be slightly daunting. We offer a service that can supply you the full package straight to your garden. This includes your hive, your first bee colony and all of the equipment that you will need to get yourself going. If this is of interest to you then please get in touch for more information.
Building the dream
From concept models to the finished product, our design team can take your idea and make it reality.
